Real Madrid drew with Villarreal 0-0

In a very hard game, Real Madrid only drew 0-0 with Villarreal on Sunday, keeping the "Galactics" in the sixth place of the Spanish league.

Real Madrid is 13 points behind leader FC Barcelona, after the blaugranas beated Espanyol 2-1 on Saturday for its 11th straight league win and a club record 15th in all competitions.

The 29-time league champion has won just one of four league games with their new coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro, who replaced the dismissed Vanderlei Luxemburgo last month to become the team's fifth manager in the last 2 1/2 years.

Madrid lost Ronaldo, who was in his first game of 2006, in the 33rd minute of the match at El Madrigal stadium. It seems to be a recurrence of the right calf injury which forced him to miss Tuesday's Copa del Rey match at Athletic Bilbao.

Villarreal, which has never beaten Madrid in 13 league games, stayed in fifth place.

Other games on Sunday ended like this: Sevilla 3, Malaga 1; Celta Vigo 1, Real Sociedad 0; Mallorca 1, Real Betis 1; Cadiz 1, Getafe 0; and Alaves 0, Zaragoza 2.

Ronaldo's injury allowed a recent signing from Sao Paulo, Brazilian international Cicinho, to enter for his Spanish league debut. Madrid's other newcomer, former AS Roma forward Antonio Cassano, was not fit.

Villarreal come close through midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme and striker Diego Forlan, while Zinedine Zidane almost scored for Madrid, all of this in the firts part.

Madrid, without suspended David Beckham and injured Raul Gonzalez but welcoming back defender Jonathan Woodgate after two month's absence, almost fell behind on the hour when Forlan blazed one of the second half's few clear chances wide.

Roberto Carlos stays in Real Madrid

Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos says he won't quit Real Madrid without winning another trophy.

Roberto Carlos Da Silva has been lately linked with Fenerbahce and Qatar Clubs. However, he makes it clear: "I am kind of sad by what is happening to me, with the subject of the fans and the controversy."

"It is really surprising. I am not scared of journalists, but I do not want to give explanations. Many go and deceive the fans. I am here because Real Madrid has asked me and if it had not, I wouldn't be here.

"I will not leave Madrid without winning another championship. I arrived here winning and I will leave the same way" he added.
